【College of Arts & Sciences】巴克内尔大学的文理学院是国内顶尖文理学院中最大且最多样化的文理学院之一。其为2838名学生提供兼具广度和深度的文理教育课程，同时为工程学院学生提供数学、科学和文理基础课程。巴克内尔大学的文理学院如同其他文理学院，分为3个传统的学术领域(liberal arts division)：humanities，social sciences，nature science and mathematics。同时再包含一个school of management。
【School of Management】School of Management成立于2008年，但巴克内尔的商业教育始于1889年教授的第一门有关生产、货币和银行学的课程始，1924年开始一个degree program，2008年正式成立school of management。其有特点的curriculum包括：MGMT 101: Introduction to Organization & Management：该门课程持续1学期，学校授予学生$3,000 to $5,000的预算真正地成立一家公司，去运转，去管理，去销售产品和服务。Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF)：一门2学期的课程，由巴克内尔的大四学生来管理巴克内尔的一部分捐赠资金(endowment)，也即这是一个capstone experience Institute for Leadership in Technology and Management (ILTM)：成立于1993年，与college of engineering联合提供工程与管理课程。
【学术中心介绍】环境及可持续发展中心是直属院长办公室管辖的学术中心，不向学生直接提供日常授课。该学术中心负责整合各学科领域学术资源，发起与宾州当地环境问题息息相关的环保项目，获得州政府拨付资金以及当地基金会资金支持，将教师的学术成果实际运用到现实问题解决中，为教师和学生提供科研机会。成立于2004年，该中心现主要有以下四项目：Watershed Sciences and Engineering Program; Place Studies Program; Sustainable Design Program; Imagining Sustainability and Global Sustainabilities。支持学生的调查研究是中心的重要职能之一。在2014年夏季，BCSE以津贴补助以及通勤补助形式为来自17个不同专业的30多位参加调查研究项目的学生提供财务资助。这30多位学生所在专业大有不同，从英语戏剧学到可持续性管理，到工程学都有。调查研究课题包含人文、社会科学、自然科学、工程、管理等。
